Lynnfield chips are not only for desktops as today Intel has rolled out six Xeon processors based on the new architecture. Paired up with the 3420 chipsets, the new Xeon 3400 family targets entry-level servers and includes processors that go from $189 to $589.

Intel delivers Lynnfield-based Xeons Cpu

The highest clocked Xeon model released today is the 2.93 GHz X3470 which is pretty much a Core i7 870, while the CPU with the lowest frequency is the L3426. This little one is set at 1.86 GHz but can reach 3.2 GHz thanks to Turbo Boost and has a TDP of just 45W. The full scoop on the new Xeons is available in the chart below.
